Ambras Castle
Situated a little above Innsbruck is this unique and imposing Renaissance castle.
Archduke Ferdinand (1525-1559) found the famous Ambras collection in those times, now in the basement of a modern design museum complex.
Particularly well known is the bathroom of Philippine Welser, the Spanish Hall and the beautiful English garden. Ambras castle is the scenario of the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, a special treat for lovers of this type of music.
